As-Salamu Alaykum,
Welcome to the second semester of MCNA.
We learnt and did the following activities during the last class:
Afifa's Class
- Students learnt the first dua from the knowledge duas and it is their homework to have it memorized by next class.
-The introduction, tajweed and translation of Surah Al-Kauthar was started. Students are to discuss what we learnt in class with their families.
-The Zakah unit was started last semester with the students and reviewed this class. Students have to finish Lesson 4 workbook activities.
-Chapter 10 from Mercy to Mankind book was completed and students have to finish the workbook activities for this chapter.
-We learnt that the Prophet Muhammad's companions name should be accompanied by the following when mentioning their names:
For single male companion: Radi Allahu taala anhu.
For single female companion: Rdi Allahu taala anha.
For 2 companions: Radi Allahu taala anhuma.
For more than 2 companions: Radi Allahu taala anhum.
Iffat's and Rahela's Class
- The introduction and brief translation of Surah Al-Kauthar was done with the students. The students were asked to prepare a brief written summary of the introduction of the surah and what they learnt in class. The students have to memorize the following words and meanings - Inna - Indeed, Kawthar - Abudance or River in Paradise, Fa-salli - pray.
- Chapter 4 from Our Faith and Worship was reviewed with the students. We talked about what is Zakah and that it is meant to purify our wealth. Students are to complete the workbook activities for this chapter if not finished already.
- Chapter 10 and 11 from Mercey to Mankind was discussed and it was related to the Prophet's (sws) marriage to Khadija (ra) and the cave Hira. Many of Muhammad's (sws) good qualities were discussed in these chapters such as trustworthy, merciful, truthful, patient...and the student's were asked to reflect upon their own characteristics and evaluate whether they possessed some of these lovable qualities of our Prophet (sws). Students are to complete the workbook activities for these chapters if not finished already.
The virtue of this month is PATIENCE. Students are asked to document instances during the week where they are constantly being patient and following Muhammad's (sws) sunnah inshAllah.
